An American Medical Association survey revealed physicians are feeling optimistic about the promise of digital health innovation. Kantar TNS conducted the survey, which included responses from 1,300 physicians.
Here are five things to know:
1. Physicians of all ages and across practice settings reported enthusiasm for digital health. However, this enthusiasm surpasses actual adoption rates.
2. Eighty-five percent of physicians see digital health solutions as beneficial to patient care.
3. The surveyed physicians also noted digital health can help enhance practice efficiencies, patient safety and diagnostic ability as well as cut burnout.
4. Physicians noted the following as important factors for digital health tool adoption:
• Liability coverage
• Data privacy
• Workflow integration with EHRs
5. The AMA is committed to supporting physicians as they enter an environment aided by digital health tools. The association focuses on digital tools that are patient centered, evidence based, interoperable and outcomes focused.
