Berkshire Orthopaedic Associates partners with Berkshire Health Systems — 5 takeaways

Pittsfield, Mass.-based Berkshire Orthopaedic Associates has agreed to partner with Pittsfield's Berkshire Health Systems, according to a report by iBerkshires.  

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Berkshire Orthopaedic Associates offers surgical and non-surgical approaches, advanced joint replacement surgery for knees, hips, shoulders and ankles. The practice's physicians also specialize in hand surgery and rehabilitation care.

 

2. Ongoing changes in healthcare policy and in the health insurance reimbursement system have created challenges for private physician practices.

 

3. Berkshire Health Systems and other healthcare systems are relied upon to ensure services for patients, and are increasingly doing so by investing in physician practices.

 

4. As part of Berkshire Health Systems, Berkshire Orthopaedic Associates will continue to care for their current patients but will also have access to new ones thanks to BHS' intensive physician recruitment program.  

 

5. Berkshire Orthopaedics Associates will see patients in their normal Pittsfield and Great Barrington, Mass., practices in addition to a new office in North Adams, Mass.
