Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic has announced a $70 million upgrade to its facilities in Mankato, according to the Star Tribune.
Here are four things to know:
1. A $65 million surgical suite and a new gastrointestinal endoscopy center are among the planned construction projects.
2. An additional $5 million will double the orthopedic and sports medicine clinic's size to include 20 rooms and will add on-site radiology services and a minor procedure room.
3. The $70 million expansion comes at a time when impending legislative action may cause many healthcare organizations to pull back their capital spending.
4. Mayo Clinic posted a $341 million net income on $8.15 billion in revenue over the first three quarters of 2016.
