HSS teams up with Boston Biomotion to advance human performance, injury recovery: 5 highlights

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery is collaborating with Long Island City, N.Y.-based Boston Biomotion to accelerate advances in the human performance and injury recovery field.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Through the partnership, Boston Biomotion becomes an HSS Innovation Partner, which offers the startup access to HSS' Global Innovation Institute as well as performance training, rehabilitation and motion analysis teams.

 

2. HSS will work alongside Boston Biomotion to develop the software and hardware; consult on content; serve as a liaison to stakeholders; and host an onsite pilot of the product.  

 

3. A technology startup, Boston Biomotion is creating a robotic performance training and rehabilitation platform that offers real time, objective and automated performance and strength measurements. The platform features dynamic resistance independent of gravity.

 

4. Athletes and physical therapists will be able to leverage the platform, which integrates machine learning to customize training, exercise and rehabilitation.

 

5. Leonard Achan, RN, MA, ANP, serves as HSS' chief innovation officer.
