Dyer, Ind.-based XPress Ortho Care partnered with area physicians to offer care for northwest Indiana orthopedic patients, according to The Times of Northwest Indiana.
Here are five things to know:
1. The center provides urgent care for fractures, dislocations, sprains and other orthopedic injuries.
2. Its founders hope to fill the void between walk-in clinics and emergency rooms.
3. Eight northwest Indiana-based orthopedists connected to ASCs and the state's advantageous workers' compensation reimbursement led to the center's founding.
4. Patients may be diagnosed at the center before being referred to partnering orthopedic surgeons for operations.
5. The clinic opened in late March.
Clinical Administrator Lisa Galik said, "Living in this area with the athlete population and the health-and-fitness population, it's really a dynamic opportunity here."
