According to a recent Medscape study, orthopedists' likelihood to charge patients for missing appointments without notice depends on where they practice.

Here is the breakdown of orthopedists charging patients for appointments missed without notice:

 

  • 27 percent of solo practitioners charge
  • 24 percent of orthopedists in multi-specialty groups charge
  • 19 percent of respondents in single-specialty group practices charge
