Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. Douglas Won of Minimally Invasive SpineCARE

Douglas Won, MD, is the director and founder of Minimally Invasive SpineCARE in Dallas. He is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He is also a member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, North American Spine Society and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Won is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He performs minimally invasive and endoscopic laser spine surgeries. He specializes in treatment of cervical, thoracic and lumbar disorders as well as sciatica and herniated discs.

"It's becoming more and more important for all physicians, especially spine surgeons, to have an online presence," says Dr. Won in a Becker's Spine Review article. "Patients are becoming much savvier and they want more details about the surgeons they are visiting. It's important to have this information easily accessible to them, and the internet is a great way to do that."

Dr. Won earned his medical degree The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis.  He has also completed orthopedic-spine and neurosurgery-spine fellowship training at Washington University in St. Louis and William Beaumont Spine Center in Michigan.
