Alan Nasar, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Advanced Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute in Freehold, N.J., has been elected chairman of the department of orthopedic surgery at CentraState Medical Center. Dr. Nasar has served as director of the Total Joint Center of New Jersey at CentraState where he headed efforts to achieve Joint Commission accreditation for hip and knee replacements. He has also served as medical director at the Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center for CentraState Medical Center in Monmouth County, N.J.
