Shaker Heights, Ohio-based University Hospitals received a $20 million donation to establish a new sports medicine facility that will be led by James Voos, MD, according to Nov. 14 news release.
The donation came from Jimmy Haslam and Dee Haslam, who own the Cleveland Browns, Columbus Crew and Milwaukee Bucks.
"We are fortunate to have [Jimmy Haslam and Dee Haslam] as partners as we embark on an unprecedented phase of sports medicine innovation and development," Dr. Voos said in the release. "The Haslam Center was created to revolutionize medicine for athletes in professional sports and of all ages and abilities. It will propel technology forward to enhance the health and safety for patients everywhere."
The University Hospitals Haslam Sports Innovation Center aims to identify, support and invest in innovation in sports medicine.
