Robert LaPrade, MD, a knee surgeon at The Steadman Clinic and chief medical research officer for the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colo., hosted and co-chaired the Biologic Treatments for Sports Injuries Symposium in early March.
More than 30 orthopedic and sports medicine professionals from around the world attended the symposium where they heard presentations and discussed the state of tissue healing through stem cells and applied growth factors. Attendees devised a new agenda for platelet-rich plasma exploration, which includes expansion of on-going studies through new grants and research initiatives.
