Joining a health system vs. an orthopedic MSO: Does practice size matter?

Practice Management

Some independent orthopedic groups will join a management service organization or a health system to support themselves.

Since the start of 2023, orthopedic practices of all sizes — including ones operated by a single physician — teamed up with MSOs. Hospital and health system partnerships tended to attract smaller practices with fewer than 10 physicians.
