Here are five hospitals that have recently expanded orthopedics programs or added orthopedic surgeons.
The University of Connecticut Health Care in Farmington has added orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician Cory Edgar, MD, to its team. Dr. Edgar holds a sports medicine fellowship from UConn Health Center.
Through a partnership with Perry County Memorial, Madison Medical Center will expand its orthopedics program with care provided by Joseph Byrne, MD, board-certified orthopedic surgeon of Perry County Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Perryville, Mo.
Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, Pa., has acquired SUN Orthopaedic Group, also in Lewisburg. Under the new partnership, the SUN Orthopaedics staff will combine with Evangelical's staff and facilities.
St. Luke's Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Duluth, Minn., has added orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician David Rust, MD, to its team. Dr. Rust holds an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship from Twin Cities Orthopedics in Edina, Minn.
Canton-Potsdam (N.Y.) Hospital has added Marco Berard, MD, to its medical staff. Dr. Berard focuses on sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery.
