Alex Meininger, MD, an orthopedic and sports medicine physician with Steamboat Orthopaedic Associates in Steamboat Springs, Colo., was recently invited to speak at the West Slope Chapter meeting of the Western Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Meininger will give a presentation titled "Anatomic ACL Reconstruction Using 4th Generation Tensioned Implants," which includes subjective and objective outcomes from 23 patients who underwent anatomic ACL reconstruction using anteromedial femoral drilling.
To gather the data, Dr. Meininger used an online database that is HIPAA compatible to gather Lysholm, IKDC, Knee Society and Short-Form 36 scores. He found statistically improved outcomes in all categories and normal or near-normal knee stability.
