Global spine service company SpineMark partnered with Regenexx Corp. to refer candidates for surgery at the company's centers for excellence.
Here are four things to know:
1. Under the new strategic partnership, Regenexx procedures will be performed at SpineMark centers of excellence, and SpineMark will refer candidates for surgery there.
2. Regenexx is a non-surgical treatment for orthopedic injuries, including degenerative disc disease and bulging discs. The cell-based procedure has been shown effective to intervene in 70 percent of orthopedic injuries and conditions where surgery has been considered the only solution.
3. Economics factors into the partnership, as self-insured employers can save around 80 percent on orthopedic causes through Regenexx treatment. Regenexx owns and operates 60 clinic locations across the country, which is expected to grow to 70 by the end of the year.
4. SpineMark partners with hospitals and physician groups across the country to develop and operate evidence-based spine centers of excellence.
"Both companies are privileged to work with the greatest physician leaders in the industry in providing innovative solutions to patients and medical tourists suffering from musculoskeletal spinal conditions as well as employers, third-party payers and lawyers," said Marcy Rogers, president of SpinemMark. "We believe this agreement will help support the paradigm shift of services Regenexx and SpineMark offer in their respective fields of interventional orthopedics and minimally invasive spine surgery in the U.S. and abroad."
