DiscGenics CEO recognized by Goldman Sachs

Goldman Sachs listed DiscGenics CEO Flagg Flanagan as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2021, according to an Oct. 18 news release.

Mr. Flanagan has more than 30 years of experience in the medical device field and started at DiscGenics in 2007. Under his leadership, the company has developed its first product candidate, an injectable disc cell therapy into the clinical phase. The product, IDCT (rebonuputemcel), is in clinical trials in the U.S. and Japan.

He also founded Flanagan Instruments, a neurosurgical device distribution business that was sold in 2005. He is on the board of TrueDigital Systems, Peleton Medical, Triad Life Sciences, Steribite and the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation.

"I am extremely proud of our team at DiscGenics and remain incredibly excited about the opportunity before us to potentially help millions of patients with debilitating back pain," Mr. Flanagan said in a news release.
