Inspired Spine hosted the 2nd Annual Minimally Invasive Spine Conference from June 26 to June 28 in Alexandria, Minn.
Here are six highlights:
1. U.S. and international spine surgeons attended the conference.
2. Neurosurgeon Hamid Abbasi, MD, PhD, led the conference. He has performed more than 500 Inspired Spine Oblique Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion procedures.
3. Conference sessions featured clinical indication updates, published research, real-case observations and cadaver labs.
4. Participating surgeons watched live operating room cases and practiced techniques in the cadaver lab.
5. Surgeons also learned the thoracic variation of the OLLIF procedure — the Direct Thoracic Interbody Fusion.
6. Publications in Cureus have demonstrated OLLIF presents 90 percent less blood loss compared to transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion and yield faster recoveries.
