Munson Healthcare Anesthesiologist Discusses Implantable Therapies for Chronic Pain

Pain Management

Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare anesthesiologist Richard Burke, MD, will present a free community program discussing implantable therapies for chronic pain conditions, according to a health system news release.

Implantable pain therapies, including spinal cord electrical stimulation and spinal medication pumps, are used to treat chronic pain not helped through other methods of pain management. When more conservative therapies have failed, and cost and risks of managing pain rise, implantable therapies can provide pain relief and increase quality of life for people with chronic pain, according to the news release.

The program will be held at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City on May 3.
