Surgeons at Cambridge (Minn.) Medical Center have completed the 500th knee and hip replacement procedure using Stryker's Mako robot at the facility, according to a May 16 report from the Isanti-Chisago County Star.
The center first added the robot in 2022, allowing patients to undergo procedures with less pain and fewer narcotics, and achieve a better range of motion post-operation.
Surgeons Richard Birdwell, DO, and Robert Doohen, MD, have performed 554 knee and hip replacements with the robot to date.
