Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. James Lehner of Orthopaedic Center for Spinal and Pediatric Care

James T. Lehner, MD, practices with Orthopaedic Center for Spinal and Pediatric Care in Centerville, Ohio. He provides care at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, and at Dayton Children's Hospital, where he previously served as chief of staff. He is a member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Scoliosis Research Society and Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America.

Dr. Lehner's clinical interests include the treatment of adult and pediatric spine conditions, including scoliosis, spinal deformity, kyphosis, spondylolisthesis, disc herniations, tumors, infections and fractures. He also has an interest in transfusion medicine. He has served of the board of trustees of the Community Blood Center in Dayton since 1989.

 

Dr. Lehner is an associate clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at Wright State University's Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton. He also served on the board of the Ohio Orthopaedic Society for 10 years, of which he served as president for two years. He has spent time volunteering with Orthopaedic Overseas in Bangladesh, Dominican Republic and Haiti.

 

Dr. Lehner earned his medical degree at Ohio State University in Columbus and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He has also completed a fellowship in scoliosis at Kosair Crippled Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
