James Kang, MD, is a spine surgeon and chairman of orthopedic surgery at Boston-based Brigham and Women's Hospital.
In addition, Dr. Kang serves as president of the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine. He previously served as president for the Cervical Spine Research Society and North American Spine Society.
Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Kang's clinical interests include herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spine fractures and spondylolisthesis.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Dr. Kang completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Kang is also fellowship trained from Cleveland-based Case Western Reserve University.
