Curtis Mina, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Orthopedic Physicians Alaska in Wasilla.
Dr. Mina specializes in minimally invasive spinal pathology treatments. He received his medical degree from Durham, N.C.-based Duke University School of Medicine and underwent spine surgery fellowship training at the Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, Ky. He also completed a minimally invasive spine surgery traveling fellowship at the National University of Singapore.
He has traveled to Ghana to perform complex spinal reconstructive surgeries on children with severe scoliosis who were otherwise unable to obtain surgical care. While in medical school, Dr. Mina organized and completed a 51-day, 4300-mile cross-country bicycle trip to raise funds for the Sarcoma Foundation of America.
Dr. Mina holds a master's in business administration degree from Duke University Fugua School of Business in Durham. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, climbing and mountaineering.
