David R. Campbell, MD, is director of spine surgery at Jupiter (Fla.) Medical Center. His hospital affiliations also include Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Medical Center and St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, Florida Medical Association and American Medical Association.
Dr. Campbell has served as a spine surgeon specialist in the United States Army Reserve Medical Corps and was honorably discharged with the rank of Major. He has a professional interest in degenerative disc disease, disc herniation, cervical/lumbar stenosis, spinal cord compression, adult scoliosis and spondylolisthesis, disc replacement and spine trauma. He also focuses on minimally invasive surgical techniques and complex spinal instrumentation and reconstruction laser techniques.
Dr. Campbell has an active interest in spinal instrumentation, and in 2001, he founded Atlas Spine, a company that develops spinal implant and instrument systems. He has also lectured nationally on a wide array of topics, and his work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as The Spine Journal and The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
Dr. Campbell earned his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Miami-Jackson Medical Center. He has also completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
