Jeffrey Arle, MD, PhD, is the associate chief of neurosurgery at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He is also a visiting associate professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is a member of North American Neuromodulation Society, American Academy of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Arle previously served as director of functional neurosurgery and director of neurosurgery research at Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Clinic. His clinical interests include complex spine disorders, pain and neuromodulation. He also focuses on complex fixation procedures, spinal fusions and traumatic stabilization procedures.
Dr. Arle also has a wide array of research interests, including computational modeling and analysis of neural circuitry and function and developing novel implantable devices for interfacing with the nervous system. He has authored nearly 60 publications. Additionally, he serves on Wenzel Spine's Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Arle earned his medical degree at University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington. He completed his neurological surgery residency at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He has also completed a fellowship at New York University Langone Medical Center.
