Robert L. Tatsumi, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Oregon Spine Care in Portland.
Dr. Tatsumi specializes in minimally invasive surgery and artificial disc replacement. He is an instructor for disc replacement and utilizes Zimmer's Mobi-C and DePuy Synthes' Pro Disc C and Pro Disc L. He also is an instructor for minimally invasive fusions and performs sagittal plane deformity correction utilizing a lateral-based anterior longitudinal ligament release and Globus expandable hyperlodotic cages.
He received his medical degree from Portland-based Oregon Health & Sciences University School of Medicine and underwent spine fellowship training at the Los Angeles Spine Center. His research has been published in a variety of scientific journals, and he is a spine moderator for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the North American Spine Society and the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery. Dr. Tatsumi was recognized as a "40 under 40" healthcare honoree by Portland Business Journal. He enjoys advancing the field of spine and is working on his fourth spine patent.
