Michael Dorsi, MD, of Ventura (Calif.) Neurosurgery, was among the first group of neurosurgeons to use Camber Spine's Spira-C Open Matrix Cervical Interbody device, according to the VC Star.
Here are five insights:
1. The interbody fusion implant features spiral support arches and the company's surface by design technology.
2. Dr. Dorsi performed the multilevel procedure with four other surgeons at Ventura Neurosurgery.
3. Because of the device's roughened surface, the Spira-C Open Matrix Cervical Interbody device is designed to be stable immediately after insertion.
4. Dr. Dorsi told VC Star, "The arched design has large openings [that] allows for significant graft packing and creates a snowshoe-like effect of distributed load sharing, which should decrease the risk of subsidence."
5. Board certified and fellowship trained, Dr. Dorsi has practiced at Ventura Neurosurgery since 2012.
