Spine

Together, Jackson Country, Miss.-based Singing River Health System and Bienville (Miss.) Orthopaedic Specialists performed the state's first robotic spine surgery, according to WLOX.

Here are three insights:

1. Spine surgeons Eric Graham, MD, Christopher Bruks, MD, Charles Winters, MD, and Joseph Cox, MD, performed the surgery using Globus Medical's ExcelsiusGPS.

2. Globus Medical designed the robotic system to be used for conditions that require spinal fusion.

3. A leader in medical excellence and patient safety in various specialties, Singing River Health System was eager to introduce robotic-assisted spine surgery to Mississippi.

"We jumped at the opportunity to utilize this proven technology," Tiffany Murdock, executive director of surgery operations at Singing River Health System, told WLOX. "It's another tool we can use to assure the absolute highest quality care for our patients, and we're excited to show the rest of the region what we can do with this technology."
