Ashley Strickland, MD, joined UNC Orthopedics at Nash in Rocky Mount, N.C., according to the Rocky Mount Telegram.
Dr. Strickland is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in spinal surgery. His other clinical interests include scoliosis management, pediatric orthopedic care and upper extremity orthopedic care.
Dr. Strickland received his medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. He then completed residency training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and underwent fellowship training at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
"Having been an orthopedic patient several times myself, I understand the significant impact this specialty can have in one's life," Dr. Strickland told the Telegram. "I realized early on in my academic career that orthopedics was my calling, and it has been my goal to serve the people of eastern North Carolina ever since."
