Danbury (Conn.) Hospital has been awarded The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for spine care, according to a Feb. 10 report from the News Times.
The system offers the least-invasive surgical options possible and has 10 orthopedic spine surgeons and neurosurgeons along with advanced practice providers, anesthesiologists, operating room technicians, nurses and rehabilitation therapists.
Danbury's specialists treat spinal disc problems, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and spine trauma.
The accreditation is given in collaboration with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and reviews a facility's quality performance indicators, including postoperative outcomes, short length of hospital stays and low readmission rates.
