The American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons have urged Congress to pass a bill that would halt the scheduled physician payment cut.
The Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2024 would prevent the scheduled 2.83% Medicare physician payment cut from going into effect and give a 1.8% positive payment update for 2025, according to a Nov. 27 news release shared with Becker's.
A letter sent to Congress states the importance of passing the legislation as a temporary solution, paving the way for more impactful Medicare payment reforms in the next Congress.
The two organizations joined 76 national medical societies and 51 state medical associations in support for the bill.
