Spine

Spine surgeon Mir Ali, MD, is now using minimally invasive procedures to treat patients with compression spine fractures, according to The Herald-News.

Here are five things to know:

1. Dr. Ali will offer the procedures at Rezin Orthopedics' locations in Joliet, Morris and Bolingbrook, all located in Illinois.

2. He will perform kyphoplasty, a minimally invasive procedure which elevates fractured vertebrae to the correct position.

4. Dr. Mir underwent his orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

5. Following his residency, he completed his spine surgery fellowship at Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center.
