Methodist Hospital System in Houston is expanding the Texas Medical Center's sports medicine program to provide surgical services, rehabilitation, injury prevention and athletic training, according to a report by The Houston Chronicle.
The center for sports medicine will include physician offices, examination rooms, rehabilitation services and athletic training on the third floor of the Centerfield Medical Office Building in Houston. There will be a surgery center for orthopedics on the first floor.
Physicians with the Methodist Center for Sports Medicine are team physicians for several area high schools. The center will include two new surgeons: Korsh Jafarnia, MD, a hand and upper extremities specialist, and Travis Hanson, MD, a foot and ankle physician.
