Florida Orthopaedic Institute Adds 5 Orthopedic Surgeons

Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa announced the addition of five orthopedic surgeons to its physician team — Jean-Jacques Abitbol, MD; Anil K. Gupta, MD; Brian Palumbo, MD; Jeff Sellman, MD; and Loannis Pappou, MD — according to a Tampa Bay Times report.

Dr. Abitbol serves as the director of Spine Education and Research Center of the North American Spine Society and prior to joining Florida Orthopaedic Institute, provided care at California Spine Group in San Diego.

 

Dr. Gupta is fellowship trained in sports medicine and shoulder surgery. He completed his residency at Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Medical Center and completed his fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

 

Dr. Palumbo is fellowship trained in adult reconstruction. His clinical interests also include extremity fractures, back complaints, sport related injuries and general musculoskeletal issues.

 

Dr. Sellman received fellowship training at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, and he focuses on general and primary care sports medicine.

 

Dr. Pappou has completed two fellowships — one in hand surgery at University of Virginia in Charlottesville and an another in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He focuses on hand, wrist, shoulder, elbow and microvascular surgery.
