Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute, based in New Jersey, expanded their non-invasive pain treatment options with EPAT.

Here are five points:

1. EPAT is a technique using acoustic waves to stimulate tissue regeneration. It can serve as an alternative or supplement to surgical and medication-based pain management for patients with musculoskeletal pain.

2. EPAT is FDA-approved for treating musculoskeletal pain resulting from trauma, postural strain, repetitive strain, prolonged immobilization, overuse and daily wear and tear.

3. Each EPAT session takes five to 10 minutes and generally entails three total treatments to maximize efficacy.

4. Within 48 hours of the procedure, patients usually begin to experience relief from musculoskeletal pain symptoms including soreness, sleep disturbances and fatigue.

5. Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute also provides diagnostic and treatment services addressing correctable sources of musculoskeletal pain such as physical therapy to correct posture.
