Kaiser Permanente appointed Pasadena-based Southern California Permanente Medical Group family and sports medicine physician Aaron Rubin, MD, as CMO for Special Olympics Southern California, the Fontana Herald News reports.
Here are four things to know.
1. Kaiser Permanente Southern California signed a three-year agreement to serve as the official health partner of Special Olympics Southern California.
2. Dr. Rubin previously served as medical director of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles.
3. He will oversee about 40 Southern California Permanente Medical Group physicians and medical support staff at the SOSC games, providing sideline and ongoing medical care to the athletes over the next three years.
4. The Kaiser medical team will also serve SOSC's Healthy Athletes, a program that provides free health screening to all SOSC athletes.
