Here are five orthopedic and spine surgeons that treated professional athletes in July 2018.

Keith Meister, MD, injected Chicago Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish with a cortisone shot to treat inflammation in his tricep. Dr. Meister also performed an arthroscopic debridement and bursectomy on Cleveland Indians pitcher Danny Salazar's right shoulder. In addition, the surgeon repaired Oakland Athletics pitcher Kendall Graveman's damaged ulnar collateral ligament.

Andrew Dossett, MD, performed lumbar spine surgery on Denver Nuggets draft pick Michael Porter Jr. to treat Mr. Porter's herniated discs.

Robert Anderson, MD, surgically repaired the shoulder and left ankle of Minnesota Vikings center Pat Elflein. Dr. Anderson also operated on New York Mets left fielder Yoenis Cespedes to remove calcification and bone spurs on the athlete's heels.

Neal ElAttrache, MD, repaired the damaged ulnar collateral ligament in the right elbow of Los Angeles Angels pitcher Garrett Richards.

James Andrews, MD, and Dr. Neal ElAttrache examined Arizona Diamondback third baseman Jake Lamb's injured left shoulder. Mr. Lamb later underwent shoulder surgery.
