Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute will volunteer medical personnel and supplies to the first-ever Darfuri Refugee Women's Team training camp in October.
Here are three things to know:
1. Cedars-Sinai is a community partner of iACT, which organized the first-ever Darfur United Women's Team in eastern Chad. The all-refugee women's soccer team will launch at the week-long training camp.
2. The women's team follows the success of Darfur United Men's Team, which has players currently living in Chad, Sweden and the U.S.
3. Cedars-Sinai provided personnel and materials for DUMT's first U.S. tryouts in summer 2017.
