Robert Anderson, MD, will repair Washington Wizards point guard John Wall's ruptured left Achilles tendon, NBA reports.
What you should know:
1. Dr. Anderson initially treated Mr. Wall for a Haglund's deformity and chronic Achilles tendon injury in his left heel Jan. 8.
2. Mr. Wall developed an infection in the incision from the Jan. 8 surgery. The 28-year-old point guard then suffered the rupture after slipping and falling in his home.
3. The surgery has not been scheduled, but Mr. Wall is expected to remain in recovery for one year following the operation.
4. Dr. Anderson is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Bellin Health Titletown Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in Green Bay, Wis. He serves as an associate team physician for the Green Bay Packers.
