Prominent orthopedic hand surgeon Elizabeth Anne Ouellette, MD, has joined the Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute and the Baptist Health Medical Group as chief of hand surgery, bringing 30 years of experience treating athletes both nationally and internationally, the Cutler Bay News reports.
Dr. Ouellette is a highly recognized physician-surgeon who performs hand surgeries of all complexities and specializes in the treatment of wrist fractures, ligament tears, nerve injuries, joint instability and small joint replacement.
Her clinical research areas include wrist instability biomechanics, nerve injury repair, skin coverage and psychological intervention for upper extremity trauma patients, and she is an invited speaker at national and international academic conferences as well as an active member of several professional organizations.
Dr. Ouellette also teaches and mentors medical students, residents and fellows in academic and clinical leadership roles, and is currently the chief of hand surgery and clinical professor at the Department of Orthopedics at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
