The International Sports Vision Association appointed Donald Teig, OD, and Greg Applebaum, PhD, to its board of directors.
The ISVA is a group of industry professionals tasked with advancing the field of vision training for athletes and help them achieve peak performance.
Dr. Applebaum is an associate professor at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C., where he runs the Human Performance Optimization Lab and the Brain Stimulation Research Center.
Dr. Teig is past chairman of the Sports Vision section of the American Optometric Association and authored several books on the link between vision and enhanced athletic performance.
"Don and Greg bring a rich mix of backgrounds and experiences that will help ISVA increase public and professional awareness of the positive impact that vision training and enhancement of vision skills can have on athletic performance, and educate practitioners about how to build and enhance a sports vision specialty," says ISVA President Alex Andrich, OD.
