Golfer Dustin Johnson underwent arthroscopic knee surgery performed by George Caldwell, MD, PGATOUR.com reports.
Three things to know:
1. Dr. Caldwell repaired cartilage damage in Mr. Johson's left knee on Sept. 5 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He previously operated on the golfer's right knee in December 2011.
2. Dr. Caldwell is associated with Fort Lauderdale's Florida Institute of Orthopaedic Surgical Specialists. He has worked with the Miami Dolphins and Miami Marlins, in addition to other sports teams.
3. Mr. Johnson won the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship and was a runner-up in two majors during the 2018-19 season. He is a 20-time PGA Tour winner.
