The sports medicine department of Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy opened a clinic Nov. 18 inside the St. Louis Blues' practice facility, St. Louis Business Journal reports.
Three things to know:
1. Mercy Sports Medicine opened an 8,600-square-foot facility at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo., in partnership with EXOS, a Phoenix-based sports performance and physical therapy company that operates at 400 sites in 30 countries.
2. The facility includes physical therapy services and 4,300 square feet of space dedicated to Mercy's new sports performance service. The facility will be geared toward helping athletes return to full strength with nutrition services, individualized assessments and customized training.
3. Mercy Sports Medicine expects to serve up to 2,000 athletes in its first year of operation. Eventually, it aims to expand its sports performance services to additional facilities in the St. Louis area.
