Sara Raiser, MD, joined the sports medicine team at Emory Johns Creek (Ga.) Hospital and the Emory Sports Medicine Complex in Brookhaven, Ga., the Gwinnett Daily Post reports.
Five things to know:
1. Dr. Raiser is a board-certified sports medicine physiatrist trained in adolescent sports injuries, running medicine, gait analysis and overuse injuries.
2. She serves as a team physician for Atlanta-based Emory University and several local high schools.
3. Dr. Raiser joins more than a dozen physicians at the Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center in Johns Creek. The center is led by director Scott Boden, MD.
4. Dr. Raiser graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, completed residency training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and completed a fellowship at Stanford (Calif.) University.
5. She also studied clinical massage therapy at the Georgia Massage School in Atlanta.
