CMS Administrator Seema Verma spoke with medical representatives from major sports leagues to discuss how the leagues can restart their seasons April 28.
Ms. Verma encouraged the leagues to follow CDC guidelines around testing before restarting seasons and stressed the importance of working with the private sector to implement practices around keeping players, coaches, staff and fans healthy and safe.
Ms. Verma said the Trump administration "is committed to supporting their efforts to reopen in a way that is consistent with public health data."
Representatives from MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, PGA, NCAA and the National Women's Soccer League were present among others.
