James P. Bradley, MD, received the 2014 Outstanding NFL Team Physician of the Year Jerry "Hawk" Rhea Award, according to an AAOS Now report.
Dr. Bradley is a surgeon with Burke & Bradley Orthopedics and head team orthopedic surgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers, a position he's held for 23 years. He is a past president of the National Football League Physicians Society and has spent a significant amount of time working with the NFL. He also serves as the chairman of the NFL's Medical Research Peer Review Committee and is on the NFL Injury and Safety Panel Committee.
He is also a clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and mentors young orthopedic surgeons in their fellowship. Throughout his career, he has published 150 peer reviewed articles for medical journals.
