Steven Shin, MD, a physician with the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, recently performed surgery on professional baseball player Derrek Lee, according to a Yahoo Sports news report.
Dr. Shin, a hand specialist, performed surgery to repair a torn ligament in Mr. Lee's right thumb, an injury that hindered his performance during the 2010 baseball season with the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves. He was instructed to wear a cast for six weeks and complete four weeks of rehabilitation.
