St. Luke's Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, of Duluth, Minn., staff recently welcomed David Ruta, MD, to its orthopedic and sports medicine staff. Here's what you need to know:
1. Dr. Ruta received his medical degree from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He then completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Campbell Clinic in the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
2. While at the University of Michigan, Dr. Ruta served as the administrative chief resident in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He was also a member of the Orthopedic Surgery Patient Safety Committee.
3. The center offers services in general orthopedic care, fracture care for adults and children, treatment of sports-related injuries, arthroscopic repair of shoulder, hip and knee injuries, minimally invasive hip and knee replacements and several other services.
