Martin O'Malley, MD, examined Brooklyn Nets forward Caris LeVert's right foot Nov. 13, the New York Post reports.

Here's what you should know:

1. Mr. LeVert dislocated his right foot during the final seconds of the first half of the Nets' Nov. 12 game. He was then immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and did not return to the game.

2. Dr. O'Malley diagnosed Mr. LeVert with a subtalar dislocation of the right foot, with no fractures and only moderate ligament damage, he said in a statement.

3. Dr. O'Malley said Mr. LeVert does not need surgery, just rehabilitation, and the 24-year-old forward is expected to fully recover and resume all basketball activities without any limitations this season.

4. The Nets have not released a timeline for Mr. LeVert's return.

5. Dr. O'Malley is an orthopedic surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He specializes in foot and ankle surgery and is a team physician for the Brooklyn Nets and USA Basketball.
