Three sports medicine specialists from Rockford-based OrthoIllinois continue their partnership this season as part of the Chicago Blackhawks medical network.
Jon Whitehurst, MD, Geoffrey Van Thiel, MD, and Scott Trenhaile, MD, will provide sports medicine care for Blackhawks players and for American Hockey League franchise, the Rockford IceHogs, which OrthoIllinois has provided team physicians for since 1999.
Drs. Whitehurst and Van Thiel helped conduct preseason physicals for the Blackhawks players Sept. 12.
Drs. Whitehurst and Van Thiel treat patients at OrthoIllinois' facilities in Rockford and Algonquin and Dr. Trenhaile treats patients in Rockford.
