Since the beginning of March, several companies have hit milestones with titanium spinal implants.
Here are five to know:
1. Additive Implants introduced its 3D-printed, titanium alloy SureMAX Cervical Spacer to the U.S. market in March, after it received FDA clearance.
2. ChoiceSpine released the Hawkeye TI, an additive manufactured titanium alloy implant, designed for cervical corpectomy cases.
3. Alphatec released the IdentiTI-C Porous Titanium Interbody Implant system in the U.S. The implants are 60 percent porous and designed for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion procedures.
4. Larry Khoo, MD, and Payman R. Emmanuel, MD, performed the first two surgical cases using Amplify Surgical's dualX Dual Expanding Interbody Fusion System, which is a titanium expandable interbody device used in lateral, posterior and transforaminal lumbar interbody fusions.
5. Tangible Solutions, a 3D-printed implant manufacturer of orthopedic and spine implants, expanded its facility in Fairborn, Ohio, aiming to gain national recognition as a contract manufacturer of 3D-printed titanium implants. It uses Concept Laser additive manufacturing systems to produce the implants.
