ZygoFix wins startup competition for 3D-printed spine implant

Surface Technology

ZygoFix's 3D-printed implant for spinal fusions zLOCK was one of the 10 winners at the 2019 MassChallenge startup competition, according to The Jerusalem Post.

Three things to know:

1. The miniature 3D-printed porous implant is designed to achieve facet joint fusion without screws.

2. zLOCK uses the spine's anatomy for spinal stability as opposed to the external screw-based bridge.

3. With just one incision per side required, zLOCK allows for less invasive spinal fusions and can be performed in an outpatient setting.
